Monica Truninger is a sociologist and research fellow at the Institute of Social Sciences – University of Lisbon (ICS-ULisboa). At the ICS-ULisboa she is a member of the scientific and school boards. Her main research interests are food safety, food freshness, poverty and food insecurity, school meals, and sustainable consumption. She is the coordinator of several international projects and team member leader. She has experience with various methodologies, namely focus groups and workshops with several stakeholders, online ethnographies, interviews and quantitative methods. She has published in journals such as Trends in Food Science and Technology, Journal of Consumer Culture, International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment, Science and Technology Studies. She is currently the co-chair of the Consumption Section of APS (Portuguese Sociological Association) and former board member of the European Sociological Association - Sociology of Consumption Research Network.
